STEEZY V® (SV, not a real brand) are a sunglass retailer who mainly trade online. SV decided that they needed to find a competitive edge as the consumer market is becoming more environmentally and socially aware.

SV realised it would not be financially feasible to find alternative materials for their products, and so decided to support a social or environmental cause in the short term.

After some research by the marketing/sustainability/fulfillment team/CEO, Steezy V® decided they want to support a nature project, but were worried about transparency due to possible greenwashing.

SV found Seabin’s Nature Certificates, read up on the methodology, integrity documents and then checked their socials for how many followers (Yes, this is really a thing)

SV purchased the impact units for retailers, and then following the “Claims Usage” document, started to build new funky marketing materials and hired a bunch of influencers to promote the new campaign (Yes, that is really a thing also)

SV added a tagline to their e-commerce ads (above), kept their claims simple, and their marketing bold.

Steezy V’s chance of selling more products to a conscious consumer has now increased significantly.

To be more environmentally and socially responsible, they used a nature-based colour palette for their ads, and had their influencers dress in linen, whilst posing next to trees and rocks.

SV had no solid messaging or claims, but they still looked cool and channeled those “Byron Bay” vibes.

Steezy V’s chance of selling more products to a conscious consumer is only just slightly better than before.
